Let's take a moment while still hungover from July 4th celebrations to put the recent N. Korean Patriotic Display of Weak Weapons to put it all in perspective:
i read this last week, but it never really struck me how fascinating it is, until a few days ago.
in france, workers, not unlike somali pirates, have been taking entire ships hostage.
yet the french 'ships' are in fact the offices of multinational corporations, with their bosses trapped in them.
First Sony, then Caterpillar, now 3M. who's next !? (can we vote on it?)
if we did this in the states, it'd be domestic terrorism and we'd go waco on their ass in seconds.
yet, in France, taking a hostage isn't apparently always criminal; if it's your boss, it's called 'negotiation'.
fascinating!
in france, with increasing frequency, unions have been holding the boss in the factory. for days. taking their bosses hostage until they meet terms.
isn't tihs revolutionary youth's grandest dream!!?? the collective wargasm of WTO protesters, kicking down the starbucks signs with their nike shoes, the glass smashing crowds; to hold multinational corporations hostage.
for a few days, anyway.
just long enough to renegotiate human rights.
viv'la france !
