Opening night was rainy and it snowed the next day! But the artists still rocked it. Last night weather broke & some good crowds came out. for those in new orleans and have not yet seen it - tomorrow 12.14.08 is your last day !!! - info @ www.descours.us

after 3 days of humid rather greuling setup, i was finally able to relax a bit and take in this swampy global creole; everyone's been absolutely fantastic and i've seen some of the most surreal things ever:

abandoned houses in the ghetto turned into art galleries. painted blue with the word (america). outside our tiny circle, random street interactions: thugged out crew saving random drunken man from getting hit by a car, and anything resembling aggression usualy diffuses into lateral mumbling without conflict. people breaking into kirscha's house to steal not money, not computers, but wine. glowing pink fog blur houses. rainbows.

2 days left of the festival... a review by art critic @ picayune .. and 3.5 days left in this city...
